General Meetings - Open to Prospective Members · Thursday, May 1, 7:30 pm - Fairfax County Government Center “Making Mothers Count for Mothers Day” - Join us for a discussion on Making Mothers Count, Thursday, May 1st from 7:30 to 9:30 at the Fairfax County Government Center. We will talk about how we often feel that the work we do is invisible to those around us. We will explore our experiences of invisibility and talk about how to make the work we do visible. Pizza provided by the chapter! · Wednesday, May 21, 7:30 pm - Braddock Hall (adjacent to the Kings Park Library) “Finishing Your Puzzle” - Feeling like there is something you're “supposed” to be doing, but not sure what it is? Should there be something more? If you ask yourself those questions or say to yourself such things as "There’s something I’ve always longed to do, but I can’t find the courage to do it" then you should join us. We will be exploring "What am I good at?" This is Part one of a twelve part experience to see if we can find some of the "More" in ourselves. Led by Linda Khan, this exploration into "Finishing Your Puzzle" is designed to answer the following questions: · What do I want the finished puzzle of my life to look like? · What is on each individual piece of the puzzle of my life? · How do my puzzle pieces fit together? I think you'll find it a very enlightening experience! · Thursday, June 5, 7:30 pm - Fairfax County Government Center “Book Swap” - Bring as many of your old favorites as you would like that need new readers and go home with several new options for summer time reading. We will have an evening of socializing, learning about great books that our fellow Mothers and More members enjoyed (or didn’t, but someone else could). General meetings (listed above) and Open Houses are open to prospective members. The events below are listed for prospective members to get an idea of what our current calendar is like. Some nighttime, Mom’s only events can be attended by guests as well upon inquiry. |
